Product description

Tomato Paste, tart and fruity paste from early-harvested Italian tomatoes

This tomato paste from Italy is made from early-harvested tomatoes and triple concentrated. That gives it a tart note with fine fruit and a deep, intense tomato colour. Concentrated tomato power as a base for Mediterranean sauces, pasta and braises.

Taste and aroma

Tart, fruity and concentrated with only a subtle natural sweetness. Thanks to the triple concentration, even a small amount brings full tomato depth to sauces, soups and braises.

How to use

Tomato paste is the classic base for Bolognese, sugo, pizza sauce, stews and braises. It refines risotto, soups, curries and marinades and gives dark meat sauces depth. Use sparingly – the paste is very concentrated.

Important: after opening, store cool and use up quickly. Cover the surface with a little olive oil so the paste does not dry out.

Tip

Briefly fry the tomato paste in hot oil before adding any liquid. This takes away the acidity and develops an intense, almost caramelised tomato depth.

At a glance

  • Italian tomato paste, early harvested
  • Triple concentrated, tart and fruity
  • Without additives
  • Classic base for Bolognese, pizza, sugo and braises
  • Use sparingly, very economical

Goes well with

For a rich tomato sauce, combine it with San Marzano tomatoes and freeze-dried basil. For more tomato depth, stir in tomato flakes. With pasta, the Sofies Pastazauber and the Herbes de Provence work well.
