Gewürzamt Cuvée, wine balsamic vinegar with a fine sweet-sour interplay
Gewürzamt Cuvée is our blend of wine balsamic vinegars and brings fine acidity and rounded sweetness to your salad, sauce or marinade in a single splash. We fill it in Klingenberg am Main. The profile: a fruity opening, soft balsamic depth in the middle, and on the finish an acidity that is clear but never sharp. A vinegar that balances rather than dominates.
How to use it
For leaf salads, tomatoes, raw vegetables and potato salad, as a base for vinaigrettes and dressings, in marinades for meat and vegetables, or as a final splash in dark sauces and braises. It also works neat over grilled vegetables, strawberries or an aged cheese.
Important: the Cuvée is milder than a classic wine vinegar. Use a little more of it in dressings and then season with salt.

Frequently asked questions
What is a wine balsamic vinegar?
A wine balsamic vinegar is a vinegar made from wine that gains a balsamic, slightly sweet note through grape must or reduction. It is rounder and milder than pure wine vinegar. Gewürzamt Cuvée is a blend of such wine balsamic vinegars.
What is the difference between the Cuvée and the House Vinegar?
The Gewürzamt House Vinegar Churfranken is a robust wine vinegar with 9 % acidity, the Cuvée a mild wine balsamic vinegar with a sweet-sour interplay. Use the House Vinegar for strong vinaigrettes and sauerbraten, the Cuvée for delicate dressings and for rounding off sauces.
How does it differ from balsamic vinegar from Modena?
The Cuvée is a German wine balsamic vinegar and lighter than an aged 12-year balsamic vinegar. Balsamic from Modena is darker, thicker and sweeter. For the everyday dressing the Cuvée is the more versatile choice, for cheese and desserts the aged balsamic.
How long does the Cuvée keep?
Vinegar is naturally very stable, so the Cuvée needs no best-before date. Store it away from light, cool and tightly closed. That way the aroma lasts a long time.
