Founded in 2001 by former top chef Ingo Holland and now run by his son Kilian, the manufactory is now a creative family business .

A brief history of the founding of the Old Spice Office

As a renowned Michelin-starred chef, Ingo Holland ( ) spent decades learning how to distinguish between good spices and better ones. At that time, no spice blend met the standards of a successful chef. At this point, his passion evolved into a new calling: the idea of "Altes Gewürzamt" (Old Spice Office) was born.

In 2007, Ingo Holland ( ) gave up the restaurant business, devoting himself entirely to spices. The love of spices, the thrill of continually finding new, high-quality products and creating original blends, runs in the Holland family. Since 2014, Ingo and his son Killian Holland have jointly run the spice factory. Following Ingo Holland's ( ) sudden death in 2022, Kilian's wife, Caroline Holland, continued to support the family business. The product range consists of high-quality individual spices and imaginative blends, which are developed, roasted, blended, and ground in the Klingenberg factory.

The Hollands' standards are high, using only the finest quality to create fine, select products. It goes without saying that no artificial flavorings or colorings are used. Working with heart and soul, with enjoyment and passion—that's clearly the focus here!

"Gewürzmüller is a craft of enjoyment. It requires knowledge and experience, and a great deal of passion. We see ourselves as a kind of 'alchemists' of enjoyment: Our task is to carefully select nature's gifts and create the best from them," explains Kilian Holland.
