Product description

ChocOrange with Quatre Épices, the spiced drinking cocoa with orange and winter spices

ChocOrange combines the finest cocoa with fruity orange and the sensual aromas of cinnamon, mace and Quatre Épices. We make the blend in our workshop in Klingenberg am Main, with at least 37 per cent cocoa and 33 per cent freeze-dried orange. The result: a hot chocolate with depth and a fine, Christmassy spice that also refines cakes and pastries.

How to use

For a hot chocolate, stir two teaspoons of ChocOrange into 200 ml of hot milk. As a refined baking ingredient, add the powder to doughs, creams, mousse au chocolat or over desserts. Porridge and rice pudding also gain a fruity, spiced note.

Important: Store the tin cool and dry after opening. Because of high summer temperatures, we ship chocolate products only from September to the end of April so they do not melt in transit.

Hot ChocOrange in 4 steps

  1. Heat 200 ml of milk or plant drink in a pot without letting it boil.
  2. Stir in two heaped teaspoons of ChocOrange until the powder has fully dissolved.
  3. Let the hot chocolate steep briefly so the orange and spices develop.
  4. Pour it into a pre-warmed cup and refine it to taste with a little Gewürzzucker Bourbon or a strip of orange zest.

What's in it?

The base is cocoa, freeze-dried orange and a little sugar. The spice comes from an in-house Quatre Épices blend with black pepper, cinnamon bark, mace, star anise, coriander, cloves, cinnamon flowers, allspice and galangal. A pinch of sea salt rounds it all off.

At a glance

  • Spiced drinking cocoa with orange, cinnamon and mace
  • At least 37 per cent cocoa, 33 per cent freeze-dried orange
  • For hot chocolate, cakes, creams and desserts

Goes well with

On cold days the fruity Sofies Kinderpunsch goes well with it, and for nibbling the Salted Butter Caramel. For sweetening and refining we recommend Gewürzzucker Bourbon. You will find more sweet and fruity treats in our sweets and fruity treats collection.
