Product description

Tomato paste, tangy and fruity paste from early-harvested Italian tomatoes

This tomato paste from Italy is made from early-harvested tomatoes and triple-concentrated. That gives it a tangy note with fine fruit and a strong, deep tomato colour. Concentrated tomato power as a base for Mediterranean sauces, pasta and braised dishes.

Taste and aroma

Tangy, fruity and concentrated with only a subtle natural sweetness. Thanks to the triple concentration, even a small amount brings full tomato depth to sauces, soups and braised dishes.

How to use

Tomato paste is the classic base for bolognese, sugo, pizza sauce, stews and braised dishes. It refines risotto, soups, curries and marinades and gives dark meat sauces depth. Dose sparingly – the paste is very concentrated.

Important: after opening, store cool and use quickly. Cover the surface with a little olive oil so the paste does not dry out.

Tip

Briefly fry the tomato paste in hot oil before you add liquid. This takes away the acidity and develops an intense, almost caramelised tomato depth.

Quick sugo from tomato paste in 4 steps

  1. Fry two tablespoons of tomato paste in hot olive oil for one to two minutes.
  2. Add a diced onion and a clove of garlic and sauté.
  3. Deglaze with 400 ml passata or water and simmer for ten minutes.
  4. Season with salt, pepper and fresh basil and pour over the pasta.
