Product description

Good Luck, the Butterbrot Seasoning in a gift tin

Good Luck is our Butterbrot Seasoning in a special edition with its own band label, an edible lucky charm to give away. We mix it in our manufactory in Klingenberg am Main. The recipe is more complex than a simple herb salt: Luisenhaller deep-rock salt meets Salish Alderwood, a smoked salt from the Pacific Northwest, with caraway, cumin, coriander, nigella, nutmeg, lemon peel and garlic.

How to use

Good Luck is a finishing salt to scatter over dishes, not to cook with. Scatter it over classic buttered bread, over tomatoes with olive oil, halved avocado, mozzarella and burrata, freshly sliced radishes, quark and cream cheese, or boiled eggs.

Good to know: The seasoning salt is at its best fresh and raw. Scatter it on only at the end over the finished dish so the smoky aroma and the salt are preserved.

Tomato and mozzarella with Good Luck in 4 steps

  1. Slice ripe tomatoes and mozzarella and arrange them alternately on a plate.
  2. Drizzle everything with good olive oil.
  3. Scatter Good Luck Butterbrot Seasoning generously over the top.
  4. Garnish with basil and serve straight away.

What's in it?

The base is built from Luisenhaller deep-rock salt and Salish Alderwood for the smoky character, with nigella for the nutty, bitter note and garlic for the savouriness. Caraway, cumin, coriander, nutmeg and lemon peel round off the blend.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between Good Luck and the regular Butterbrot Seasoning?
Nothing in the contents. Good Luck holds the same Butterbrot Seasoning, just with the Good Luck gift label. For a gift you take the occasion tin, for your own use the regular tin.

Can I cook with the seasoning salt?
Better not. It is a finishing salt and is at its best raw and added at the end. Scatter it over the finished dish so the smoky Salish Alderwood aroma is preserved.

What is Salish Alderwood?
A sea salt smoked over alder wood from the Pacific Northwest. It gives the Butterbrot Seasoning a gentle, smoky depth without being intrusive.

What does the Butterbrot Seasoning suit besides bread?
Plenty of cold and fresh things, such as tomatoes, mozzarella, avocado, radishes, quark, cream cheese and boiled eggs. Anywhere a hearty, lightly smoky finishing salt fits.

Luisenhaller salt, caraway, Salish Alderwood (smoked sea salt), black pepper, cumin, coriander, nigella, nutmeg, lemon peel, garlic.
