Product description

Microplane Premium Zester Grater, the world's favourite bestseller for fine grating

The Microplane zester grater has written a success story and is a bestseller worldwide. Shaped like a file, it is prized by professional and home cooks for razor-sharp, fine grating. The chemically etched blades, not stamped, are the secret behind the feather-light results. Dimensions: 32.5 × 3.5 × 3 cm.

How to use

A classic for lemon, lime and orange zest. It grates hard cheeses such as parmesan, pecorino and Comté, plus chocolate, nutmeg, tonka bean and ginger. A companion for pasta, risotto, cocktails and desserts. Also for garlic for a quick aioli or pesto base.

Important: clean under running water with a brush. The grater is dishwasher safe, but for an especially long life we recommend washing it by hand. Dry it well after cleaning so the blades stay sharp and rust-free.

Frequently Asked Questions

What sets the zester apart from a normal grater?
The blades are chemically etched (not stamped) and ultra-sharp. The result is feather-light shavings without any pressure, instead of the crushed mush of cheap graters.

Which foods is it especially good for?
For citrus zest without touching the white, bitter pith, for parmesan as a cloud-light blanket over pasta, for fresh nutmeg over spinach or purée, for chocolate as a dessert accent and for garlic for quick, creamy prep.

How do I clean the grater?
Under running water with a brush. Dishwasher safe, but for a long life we recommend washing it by hand.

What is the zester good for compared with the nutmeg mill?
The zester is the all-rounder for citrus zest and parmesan. The nutmeg mill 2 in 1 specialises in nutmeg and cinnamon and has an integrated storage compartment.
