Dried tomato flakes are excellently suited to the tomato-less winter months. Even a low dose gives the dish the desired tomato note, because unlike the fresh tomato the dried tomato flakes have a much deeper and more intense flavour. This provides a true umami kick.
Please seal well and store dry, as many dried products are strongly hygroscopic, i.e. water-attracting. This natural behaviour leads to clumping.
Use up quickly after first opening.

In warm Mediterranean cooking, tomato flakes are excellently suited to pepping up dishes instead of tomato paste.
For example with pasta, pizza and bruschetta the tomato flakes find an ideal use.
