This wild Australian specialty is harvested in very small quantities and is a taste experience for spicy food lovers. It is also called mountain pepper berry.
The aroma of Tasmanian peppercorns initially presents itself as berry-like, sweet, and pleasantly mild. The steadily increasing spiciness sets in surprisingly late—please bear this in mind when determining the dosage! With prolonged cooking, it loses some of its spiciness but retains its peppery flavor.
Not suitable for the mill.
Use:
Tasmanian pepper is a sensational barbecue spice, enhancing legumes, vegetables, and meat stews. Create a French peppercorn sauce! Wonderfully aromatic with exotic fruits (e.g., pineapple, mango).
