Green gooseberry fruit spread, 75 percent fruit from South Tyrol
A fruit spread made from fully ripe green gooseberries by the South Tyrolean producer Alpe Pragas. A high fruit content, low sugar and the authentic tart-sour taste of the green berry, a characterful classic that truly comes into its own on the cheese board.
How to use
Classic on rolls, toast, croissant and buttermilk pancakes. It refines yoghurt, quark, muesli and porridge. It sets fine accents on the cheese board, especially with mature hard cheese, alpine cheese and blue cheese, as well as with vanilla ice cream and pannacotta. For desserts it is a substantial, lightly tart counterpoint to the classic strawberry or apricot.
Good to know: store unopened in a cool, dry place. After opening, keep refrigerated, use within two weeks and always remove with a clean spoon.

Frequently asked questions
Does the spread taste very sour?
It has a distinct tart-sour note that is typical of the green gooseberry. If you are looking for pure sweetness, the apricot or strawberry is the better choice, if you like character, this is the one.
Does the spread go with salty cheeses?
Very well, especially with alpine cheese, matured Gouda, blue cheese and sheep's cheese. The tart-fruity accent opens up the aroma of the cheese.
How much sugar does it contain?
32 g of sugar per 100 g, part of it natural fruit sugar, part added for gelling.
How long does the spread keep?
Unopened see the best-before date on the jar. After opening, about two weeks in the fridge, remove with a clean spoon.
