Tomami #1 Umami, plant-based seasoning power from fully ripe tomatoes

Tomami #1 Umami is a purely plant-based seasoning concentrate from 100 percent fully ripe tomatoes, produced by Tomami GmbH. It brings the concentrated umami depth of ripe tomatoes to the dish – the natural, savoury fifth taste, entirely without stock, yeast extract or flavour enhancers. A few drops are enough to make food taste rounder, fuller and more intense.

Taste and aroma

Concentrated tomato fruit with a clear umami seasoning, subtly sweet and slightly salty and savoury in the finish, without intrusive tomato acidity. Very economical.

How to use

Refines soups, sauces, stews, risotto and pasta. A splash lifts bolognese, sugo, marinades and dressings, an accent rounds off curry, wok dishes and tomato salad. Also ideal for vegetarian and vegan cooking, to achieve savoury depth without animal ingredients.

Important: after opening, keep refrigerated and well sealed. Longer storage darkens the colour and intensifies the taste. Dose sparingly, the concentrate is very strong.

Express tomato sugo in 3 steps

  1. Crush a tin of San Marzano tomatoes, simmer with olive oil and garlic for 15 minutes.
  2. Stir in a generous splash of Tomami #1 Umami to lift the depth and fruit.
  3. Pour over fresh spaghetti and serve.

Is Tomami vegan?
Yes, Tomami #1 Umami is purely plant-based, vegan and gluten-free. It contains no animal ingredients and no yeast extract.

How do I dose it?
Very sparingly. A few drops or a small splash are enough to round off a dish. Better to add more than to over-season.

Does everything then taste of tomato?
No. In a small amount Tomami mainly brings savoury depth, without a dominant tomato note coming through. Only larger amounts taste clearly of tomato.
