This wild-growing Australian speciality is harvested in very small quantities and is a taste experience for lovers of heat. It is also called mountain pepper berry or mountain pepper.
The aroma of the Tasmanian pepper first presents itself as berry-like, sweet and pleasantly gentle. The constantly growing heat sets in surprisingly late – please bear this in mind when dosing! Through long cooking it loses a little of its heat but keeps its pepper aroma.
Not suitable for the mill.
How to use:
Tasmanian pepper is a sensational grilling spice, it refines pulses, vegetables and meat stews. Conjure up a French pepper sauce! Wonderfully aromatic with exotic fruits (e.g. pineapple, mango)
