Hungarian paprika flakes sweet, 100 % paprika with a deep red colour

These sweet paprika flakes from Hungary are made of 100 % paprika, without additives. They bring a rich red colour and the typical Hungarian, mild and fruity paprika aroma to your goulash, paprika ragouts and sauces. We sort and pack them in our workshop in Klingenberg am Main.

Taste and aroma

Mild and sweet, without heat, with full paprika fruit and a slightly sweet note. The flakes smell intense and colour dishes deep red without dominating.

How to use

A classic with goulash, paprika ragouts, goulash soup, paprika sauces and braised vegetables, as well as in BBQ rubs and Mediterranean stews. Stir the flakes in only towards the end of cooking or into the finished sauce, as paprika quickly turns bitter at too high a heat.

Important: store cool, dry and dark so colour and aroma are preserved. Direct sun fades the red colour.

Hungarian paprika chicken in 4 steps

  1. Brown chicken pieces in oil and remove them, then sauté two onions in the fat until translucent.
  2. Stir in 2 tbsp sweet paprika flakes and reduce the heat so the paprika does not turn bitter.
  3. Return the chicken to the pot, deglaze with 250 ml stock, season with salt and braise for 30 minutes.
  4. Finish with a tub of sour cream and serve with dumplings or rice.
