Cinnamon Stars, tender almond stars with meringue glaze from the Upper Palatinate
Cinnamon stars belong on every Advent plate: a crisp white glaze outside, a moist, soft centre of almonds and nuts inside. We selected them at Konditorei Rosner in Waldsassen, a family business with its own Lebkuchen bakery. The profile: first the delicate sweetness of the glaze, then roasted almond and marzipan, finishing with a warm, nutty note. 180 g in a tin, ideal for storing and gifting.
How to use
With coffee, tea or mulled wine, on the cookie plate, as a small Advent gift or as a dessert ingredient: crumbled over baked apple, vanilla ice cream or semolina pudding, as a filling for baked apples or to decorate Christmas cakes.
Important: Close the tin well after opening. This keeps the centre soft and the glaze crisp.
